Product Description
This Product is classed as Exterior however this does not mean it will last the test of time if just left outside to the elements, this means that it has been construct with a WBP exterior glue and the product will last many years exteriorly as long as covered either with a Paint, Stain, Treatment or Felt etc.
The Main difference and why Marine is preferred in many applications over Hardwood Plywood that we also sell, is due to the way the board is constructed, unlike Hardwood each lay you see when looking at the edge of the board must be intact and with hardwood plywood they can be pieced and butted together. Meaning the construction is a lot less likely to fail as a result of water ingress, in addition if you are using in an application of high humidity or likely to come into contact with water or lots of moisture and there will be any type of bend in the board then again this is the board for you. When hardwood ply is bent slightly, the joins in the layers start to separate slight meaning access to moisture and water to a part of the board that can’t be treated. After all said and done both boards are very good and will last a long time if treated correctly and used in the correct applications.
Please Consider:
When covering your sheet with either a felt, fibre glass or brushable solution, remember to take particular care of all 4 of the edges, the surface is a lot more resilient, the edges are more susceptible to water ingress and where you will find delamination occurring.
