OSB is an abbreviation Oriented Strand Board that conditioned for structural applications and can be used in environments with higher levels of humidity.

Unlike MDF, Chipboard and other plywood alternatives, OSB uses longer strands of wood for enhanced mechanical performance and strength.

The term OSB 3 Condition comes from the technical class denoted in BS EN 300 for ‘load-bearing boards for use in humid conditions’. This does not mean that the boards will last if left open to the elements however will be suitable in areas of higher humidity.
